I’ve started this website & blog about 1/3 of the way through my equine podiatry training course. I thought it’d be a good way of recording my thoughts as I go through the course and my knowledge about my business grows.
So, so far we’ve covered anatomy, basic trimming, nutrition, farrier holds & behaviour and training. I’ve still got plenty of study to go, including pathologies, environment, laminitis, farriery and horse first aid (to name a few). And the next key challenge is getting some straightforward case studies together so that I can prove to my mentor that I’m pseudo competent!
Meanwhile, I’m doing a little bit of trimming to try and keep my skills up, and sometimes I think I might have bitten off more than I can chew!!
